Dr. Ben Schwegler, Ph.D. is an Adjunct Professor of Civil and Environmental Engineering at Stanford University.
Prior to that he was Chief Scientist of Engie China Research and before that, Senior Vice President and Chief Scientist of The Walt Disney Company. In that role he directed Disney’s research on sustainable design solutions for mega-scale resort development and led teams through to commercialization of those research results. Dr. Schwegler’s current academic research is focused on design and operation of integrated infrastructure systems.
He is a member of the US National Academy of Construction and was honored with the Henry Michel Award from the American Society of Civil Engineers as well as the UCLA Centennial Luminary Award. He has authored dozens of scientific articles and book chapters and has several US Patents.
